An uplifting tale about one immigrant group, who have used the diner business as a way for them to gain social mobility, passing the torch to the newest and fastest growing immigrant population. The title of the film taken from the Greek language means, "city inhabited by people from different countries." For many of the customers that frequent New York Diner as well as the employees, it is a special place and a second home. The individuals that flow in and out bring their lives, their stories and their humanity, representing a microcosm of our society.
